Inmet's huge Panama project gets still huger

Canada's Inmet Mining Corp. announced that it raised reserves in its Cobre Panama copper project by 27 percent.

In addition, the mine's gold production was also raised by 41 percent, which along with the copper, means the mine's lifespan was increased from 31 to 40 years.

The mine, which is one of the few copper projects to be developed over the next decade, will produce 300,000 tons of copper per year, generating some $1 billion.
