Inter-American bank lends Central America $1.6 billion

Central America and the Dominican Republic will receive this year some $1.56 billion in loans and funds from the Inter-American Development Bank.
The money will go toward improving infrastructure, transport, logistics, rural credit and fighting climate change.
Last year, the bank loaned $2.14 billion, a 70 percent increase compared with the amount last year.
