Inter-American Development Bank announces $19 million loan for modernization of popular markets in El Salvador

The Inter-American Development Bank announced a $19 million joint operation, along with European banks, to modernize municipal markets in poor urban neighborhoods and villages in El Salvador.
The credit will be managed by Fedecrédito, a federation of workers’ savings banks in El Salvador.
The Inter-American bank itself will contribute $10 million to the operation. The rest will be provided by three European institutions.
