The Inter-American Development Bank announced the approval of $20 million in financing to support a housing and neighborhood improvement program focused on low-income families in Nicaragua.
The Nicaraguan government, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration and the Dutch International Guarantees for Housing Foundation, backed by a council that twins cities in The Netherlands and Nicaragua, will provide additional funding.
A key component of the program will promote the improvement and progressive construction of housing, providing subsidies to families earning up to $370 a month.
