Inter-American Development Bank offers lending for El Salvador power tender

The Inter-American Development Bank offered to finance the construction of the new plants that are to generate the 359 megawatts being sought by electricity distributors in El Salvador.
The bank said it is prepared to lend 40 percent of the cost of the project and help the winners with finding the rest.
Depending on the technology to be used, the cost of the plants is expected to raise from $600 million to $900 million.
