International Monetary Fund insists on new law to curb tax evasion in Honduras

The visiting mission from the International Monetary Fund took only 90 minutes, during a visit to the Honduran revenue service, that a new law to beat tax evasion is urgent.

According to estimates, evasion amounts to some $500 million a year to the Honduran treasury.

The mission said that Honduras can easily meet its target for tax collection if evasion can be overcome.
