Internet box-office sales in Costa Rica swamped by multitude of web sites

Costa Rica’s market in box-office sales is being swamped by web sites offering tickets for events ranging from pop concerts to sporting events.

Competition is fierce, not only because of the proliferation of sites, but also the speed with which so many of them vanish.

“They’re launched one day and closed the next,” said Alfredo Loría, manager of CostaRica Ticket, a company that has been in the market for two years.
