Investment in Mexico's mining grows two-fold
Foreign direct investment in Mexico's mining sector more than doubled in the first half of the year, reaching $854 million, the country's Economy Ministry said.
Investment to the sector grew despite a new tax of 8.5 percent on mining activities.
But the tax caused some companies, such as Canada's Goldcorp, to announce cuts in the investment plans in the country.
