Wednesday, December 14, 2011

PetroGolfo, a company led by investors from El Salvador, plans to build Central America’s largest oil refinery in the port of Acajutla.

City hall officials in Acajutla say the investors are preparing to spend $600 million in technical and feasibility studies, as well as permits and basic infrastructure.

The plans could also include a pipeline to transport natural gas throughout the country from a terminal that would receive it in liquified form.
