Friday, March 2, 2012

Ninety-five percent of the machinery used in Nicaragua in road construction and maintenance comes from cooperation with Japan, said Transportation Minister Pablo Fernandez Martinez.

In 2008, the country received an $8 million donation in equipment to improve highways and roads, to which another million was added to ensure spare parts, said the official.

He said that over the past 20 years, Japanese collaboration reached $1 billion with about $350 million specifically for infrastructure, including equipment.
