Japanese companies mull monorail for Panama City

Japan has proposed to increase its loans to Panama in order to help build a monorail train system in Panama City.

The rail would help reduce traffic congestion in the capital and it would include a section that crosses the Canal.

Japan's Hitachi and Mitsubishi have proposed to use monorail technology for the project.
