Judge upholds arrest of 'father of Panama mining'

Entrepreneur Richard Fifer faced hearings related to allegations that he withheld Social Security contributions for employees of three companies totaling more than $6.5 million.
In one case, Fifer, who has been called "the father of Panamanian mining,” is accused of the alleged failure to pay $3.2 million in required social security contributions for employees of the mining company Petaquilla Gold.
