Kuwait helps Nicaragua build hospital

Monday, October 20, 2014

Nicaragua and Kuwait signed a loan agreement for $30 million for the construction of a hospital in the northwest part of Chinandega, on the Central American country's Pacific coast.

Nicaragua’s president Daniel Ortega met with vice director of the Kuwait for Arab Economic Development, Ghanem Sulaiman Al-Ghenaiman on Friday last week to sign the agreement.

The hospital, called El Realejo, will cost $90 million to build, and will also be financed with $51 million by the Central American Bank of Economic Integration, and the remainder by the Nicaraguan government.
