Laticom signs alliance to boost Honduras telecoms
Tuesday, January 11, 2011

US-based Laticom will today sign a strategic alliance with the Honduran state telecommunications company, Hondutel.
Hondutel’s fragile finances prevent it from developing investments that can compete with the three private-sector phone companies that operate in Honduras.
The US government will invest $50 million in the country. It plans to use fiber optics to provide high-speed Internet and cable television services.
