León boosts Nicaragua's economy

The Nicaraguan state and city of León is now the third most important region in terms of the country's economy.

Although the city and state is most famous for its tourism and university, its peanut, technology and shrimp industries employ some 30,000 of its 400,000 inhabitants.

The state also accounts for 15 percent of Banco de la Produccíon's, Banpro, agroindustrial portfolio.
