LNG carriers allowed to bunker at Panama Canal

Monday, November 14, 2016

The Panama Canal Authority has reversed an  earlier decision to prohibit liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers from  bunker at the canal’s Pacific anchorage.

The authority says the new rules, which take effect immediately, require that the  bunkering operations be carried out on a space-available basis, and only at the “explosives” area of the canal’s Pacific anchorage.
