The president of Honduras, Porfirio Lobo, launched the construction of a $260 million wind farm.
The farm will be built by two Spanish companies, Gamesa and Iberdrola Ingeniería y Construcción. It will have a 100-megawatt capacity.
Lobo emphasized that the wind farm, together with new hydroelectric projects, aims to reduce the country’s dependence on oil-based power plants.
