Lukewarm demand for insurance in Nicaragua

Statistics point to a growth in the insurance market in Nicaragua, but experts say that demand is lukewarm, particularly for housing.

Net premiums grew by 16 percent in the first half of the year by comparison with the same period of 2011.

The five leading insurance companies in the country have launched a campaign to raise public awareness of the need to buy household insurance.
