Major social conflict looms for next Costa Rican president

No matter who wins the run-off presidential election in Costa Rica on April 1, he is likely to face a major social conflict.

New taxes, spending cuts and groups of students and gay rights activists are likely to break the "social peace" that the country has enjoyed over the last four years.
