Malls in Costa Rica face challenge of online shopping

Large retailers in Costa Rica already have online sales, selling the same products as in the brick and mortar locations, as a way of complementing their sales and facing competition from the likes of Amazon.

And online sales are on the rise. Four years ago, the Post Office expanded its parcel service to include goods from abroad purchased online. Several services that once catered mainly to North Americans living in Costa Rica to receive packages from abroad, now focus on online shopping for both foreigners and nationals alike.
