Manufacturer of Levis and Dockers announces closure of plant in Costa Rica

The Centro Industrial Manufacturero El Roble (Cimer), manufacturer of Levi and Dockers in Costa Rica, announced a gradual closure that will occur in December and January.

The closure will leave 230 unemployed. The company, located in the Parque Industrial Cartago, did not give the reasons behind the closure.

The textile workers’ union said that almost all the workers will have new jobs waiting for them with companies in the same area, including a new bed cover manufacturer that is getting ready start production.
