Many Japanese cars in US are produced in Mexico

American motorists are used to driving imports. Brands like Toyota, Volkswagen and Hyundai account for a solid majority of the U.S. market.
But most of the models sold by Japanese brands these days are actually built in North America — and a growing number of those are coming from plants south of the border.
