Medical tourism expected to grow by up to 30 percent a year in Costa Rica. More than 36,000 visitors this year

Medical tourism has quickly become of growing importance in Costa Rica, where more than 36,000 tourists were received for medical and wellness treatments.

The number is expected to grow between 20 and 30 percent annually according to industry experts.

The growth also means there is a need for more professionals to assist medical tourists.
