Mexican investment in Panama reached $2.3 million last year with growth of 15 percent

Investment by Mexican companies in Panama reached $2.3 billion last year, an increase of 15 percent on 2011, the Mexican ambassador, Alejandra Bologna, reported.

Construction companies were the biggest investors but information technology firms were also among the leaders.

"Panama is a really important partner of Mexico in Central America and business is sure to grow," said Bologna.
