Mexico aims to net $20 billion in e-commerce

Monday, January 7, 2019

Mexico is likely to earn more than $20 billion this year in sales of shopping by internet. That would make it one of the world's 15 leading e-commerce nations, and joint leader -- with Brazil -- in Latin America.

Latin America's e-commerce earnings currently stand at $57 billion a year, 3 percent of the global total, according to Linio's 2018 World Electronic Commerce Index for 2018.

The ranking, devised by América Economía Intelligence, shows that Brazil last year reported $19.7 billion in earnings and Mexico $18 billion.
