Mexico, Canada and U.S. to boost competitiveness

Mexico, the U.S. and Canada will seek to boost competitiveness through the Trans-Pacific Partnership, said Sergio Alcocer Martínez, deputy secretary for North America at the Mexican Foreign Ministry.

The three countries aim to become the most dynamic economic region in the world with the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Over the course of 20 years, the North American region has become the generator of 30 percent of the world's gross domestic product, with trade reaching $176 billion between 1999 and 2013.
