Mexico City’s smog-busting metrobus splutters to a halt

A Metrobus project that could unclog Mexico’s City’s streets has been frozen by the courts.

Yet the very fact that it was halted at all has shone a light on Mexico’s legal system and its still precarious rule of law. The country’s criminal justice system has been reformed but many judges are still widely considered opaque and malleable, and investors — especially from abroad — worry about the security of contracts.
