Mexico claims reduction in level of drug violence

Thursday, April 11, 2013

Mexico's government says there have been fewer drug-related murders in Mexico since President Enrique Peña Nieto came to power on 1 December 2012.

It said the number of drug-related killings between December and April had fallen by 14% compared to the same period a year earlier.

Peña Nieto says the fight against crime is one of his main priorities.
