Mexico puts tight squeeze on suppliers of state Pemex

Mexico is pressuring Pemex to reduce spending -- and the state-owned oil company is responding by delaying payments to suppliers due in December.

The move is part of Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador’s effort to end the year with a government-wide surplus and avoid any possible sovereign downgrade, Bloomberg reports.
