Mexico's oil auctions left in Lopez Obrador's court

Thursday, July 19, 2018

The Mexican government has given more time for the remaining oil auctions that were to have been held late this year.

The delay, which was requested by the companies involved, means that the administration of president-elect Andrés Manuel López Obrador will now be in charge of the auctions.

During his election campaign, López Obrador maintained that he would review all the contracts already signed under the last four years of the energy reform.
