Mexico's retail sales beat expectations
Wednesday, July 23, 2014
Mexico's retail sales grew 1.6 percent year-on-year in May, rebounding from a 0.4 percent fall registered in April.
Economists had forecast a 1.0 percent increase for May.
The rise in the index was driven by the increase of sales in stationery, recreation and other personal items, food, beverages and tobacco, supermarkets and department stores and hardware stores.
