Mexico seeks to invest in Puerto Cortés

Mexican port operator Spinver is seeking a public-private alliance with Honduras to invest a large part of the $20 billion for the development of Puerto Cortés.

The aim is to make Puerto Cortés, which would include Puerto La Unión in El Salvaor, the most important logistics platform in Latin America, due to its strategic location.

The company said it is a good moment to boost the development of Puerto Cortés, as other major logistics projects in the region, such as the Nicaraguan Inter-Oceanic Canal and the Panama Canal expansion are currently facing obstacles.
