Mexico to open energy sector to private investors

The President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, announced he plans to open the country's energy sector by the end of the year.

The move would put an end to an almost eighty-year long monopoly over the energy sector by state-owned Pemex.

"Pemex doesn't have the financial resources to be develop every energy project on its own", Peña Nieto said during an interview in the UK, where he will attend the G8 summit this week.
