Military build-up defused at Guatemala border

Guatemala and Belize have agreed to seek to de-escalate a border dispute through the staging of diplomatic talks in Istanbul.
The accord follows a series of border incidents involving the Belize Defence Force and Guatemalan civilians that have led to the deployment of about 3,000 Guatemalan soldiers to the border, reviving a long-standing unresolved territorial dispute.
