Milk production to be boosted in northern El Salvador with the help of $5 million in investment by Millennium Fund

Some 2,200 farmers in northern El Salvador are preparing to treble their milk production in the coming months in order to provide a bigger quota for the government’s Vaso de Leche program.

The money for the investment is being provided by the Millennium Fund, as part of its program to boost small enterprises in the areas surrounding the Longitudinal del Norte high way.

In all, the Fund is investing in $5 million for the cattle-ranchers. The program is due to conclude next June.
