Millicom quarterly revenue declined marginally in Central America at $323 million

Telecommunications group Millicom International Cellular reported a higher profit for the second quarter, helped by good growth from South America and Africa regions reflecting addition of more mobile customers.

 

Revenue grew 30 percent in South America to $323.20 million and 20 percent in Africa to $219.31 million as compared to last year.  

However, Central America's revenue declined marginally to $330.49 million.

 

Mobile customers increased 10 percent in Central America from the same- period a year ago.
