Minister’s resignation points to cracks in Costa Rica’s policy telecoms planning

Cracks have emerged within the structure of Costa Rica’s policy on telecommunications.

The resignation of Clotilde Fonseca as minister of Science and Technology, has pointed to the weaknesses in the sector that have yet to be resolved.

The ministry’s “serious” lack of resources was highlighted by Fonseca. As a result, she said, “it was impossible to continue the development of a national technology program”.
