Moody's rates El Salvador at level of Bolivia

Moody's Investor's Service lowered El Salvador's long-term risk grade from Ba3 to Ba2.

It is three grades below investment grade, and is at the same level as countries such as Portugal and Bolivia.

"This has pointed out the essential problem in the economy of El Salvador: it's low growth rates and persistent fiscal deficit", said analyst Mauricio Choussy.
