More cars, same roads in Costa Rica

Traffic jams are costing $600 million a year in gasoline and lost production, as car imports soar while the road network is failing to grow apace.

New road projects are being held up by red tape and railroad projects face financial costs that the munijcipal and national authorities have been unwilling or unable to pay.
