More traffic pain for long-term gain during Metro construction in Panama

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Panama is heading for  three years of increased traffic pain leading to long term gain, says Robert Roy, executive secretary of Panama’s metro train system.

Work on subway construction will begin next year and the capital will be embroiled in a series of changes that will affect vehicular traffic.

But Roy emphasized the future benefits that rail transport will bring.

Metro Line 1 will connect Los Andes in San Miguelito to Albrook, a distance of 14 kilometers in about 23 minutes.
