Movistar in half-baked launch of cellular service in Costa Rica. Consumers till waiting to see what is in store

Movistar has launched in Costa Rica, with a pre-subscription process that leaves consumers waiting for what the telecom giant has in store for the market.

Movistar officials would not give details about the services and plans that will be offered to users, nor the exact date of commencement of operations.

"From our point of view, this is coming out to the market. This is a concrete step. There are still outstanding issues for which we cannot go into operations yet", said Jorge Abadía, director of Movistar in Costa Rica.
