Movistar Panama connects to iBasis network for international fixed and mobile calls

Panamanian mobile operator Movistar Panama has interconnected to iBasis’ network, which spans more than 100 countries, for the exchange of international fixed and mobile phone calls.

It is understood that the IP-interconnect will allow Movistar to offer its subscribers lower-cost international calls at higher quality by leveraging the cost efficiencies offered by iBasis’ global network footprint.

The connection meanwhile will also see iBasis extend its own wholesale termination capabilities in Panama.
