Multinationals give birth to Costa Rican companies

Wednesday, July 4, 2012

Some 290 new companies are opened by Costa Ricans who formerly worked for multinationals.

The new entrepreneurs value the experience they acquired in their former jobs in areas such as customer service, marketing, administration and management of suppliers.

Most of the new firms are in the manufacturing and services sector, according to a study by the Costa Rica Technology Institute and the Advisory Commission on High Technology.
