New lawsuit increases Costa Rica-Nicaragua dispute

Costa Rica will again take Nicaragua to the International Court of Justice.

The reason behind the lawsuit is Nicaragua's negative response to define both countries' maritime territory, as well as the concession in June last year of oil blocks in Costa Rican seas by Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, Costa Rican leader Laura Chinchilla said.

Costa Rica has tried to set maritime borders with Nicaragua over the last 10 years.
