New Nicaragua airport slashes travel time

Resorts have been colonizing Nicaragua’s Pacific coast at a rapid pace, but for international travelers to reach them required driving over two hours from Managua’s airport.

Cutting the travel time significantly, the new Costa Esmeralda Airport will offer 30-minute connections from Managua via the Nicaraguan carrier La Costeña, while Costa Rica’s Sansa will offer flights from Liberia.
