New plague damages Honduran coffee

Monday, June 10, 2013

The Honduran coffee sector could suffer a new blow, after growers detected a plague of borers.

These losses would add to the country's already damaged crops, after a coffee rust plague swept the region.

Honduras is the most affected country by the coffee rust plague in Central America, taking into account coffee represents 8.5 percent of its gross domestic product.
