New surge in growth for Panama's insurance sector

The number of new policies in the insurance sector in Panama grew 7.6 percent from January to October, compared to the same period last year.

The number represents $907 million in policies, compared to $843 million during the same period last year, the Panamanian Insurance Superintendency reported.

Car insurance policies saw the most growth, with $162 million, followed by health policies, with $148 million and policies for fire damages, with $72 million.
