Nicaragua aims for first-half $1 billion exports record

Nicaragua is on its way to a $1 billion record in first-half export earnings.

The government export agency, Cetrex, reported $945 million so far in exports, 35 percent more than in the same period of last year. In volume terms, the increase was 27 percent.

The top export earner was coffee in $226 million, followed by been, sugar, gold, beans and dairy products.
