Nicaragua aims to be Central America dairy leader

Nicaragua could become Central America's dairy industry leader, according to Alfredo Lacayo, manager of Lácteos Centroamericanos, a Nicaraguan milk processing company.

Nicaragua currently has enough capacity to meet the country's demand over the next five years, Lacayo said.

However, more local investment, instead foreign investment, is necessary to keep the industry growing, Lacayo added.
