Nicaragua blocks dairy imports from Costa Rica

Costa Rica has lost some 270 metric tons of exports of dairy products to Nicaragua since June 7, when the Managua government told Costa Rican companies to stop sending them.
The measure has hit sales of Dos Pinos, Helados Pops and Mexico’s Sigma. It appears to be in reprisal for Costa Rica’s failure to obtain the sanitary certification for two of the four Nicaraguan plants of Mexico’s Lala.
